For the last decade, Clemson University has been ranked a Top 25 public U.S. research university. Clemson is committed to world-class research and is ranked in the highest research university category by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. Clemson has also been recognized as a leader in providing hands-on academic experiences across all majors.

Clemson offers more than 80 undergraduate and 119 graduate degree programs through seven academic colleges: Agriculture, Forestry, and Life Sciences; Architecture, Arts, and Humanities; Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences; Business; Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences; Education; and Science.

Clemson’s College of Business is ranked No. 1 in South Carolina and No. 39 among the nation’s top undergraduate business degree programs (College Choice, 2018). Clemson’s College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences is ranked No. 1 in South Carolina and No. 29 nationally for undergraduate engineering programs (U.S. News & World Report, 2019).

Clemson is also invested in the success of its students. Student retention at Clemson is consistently more than 90 percent. Much of this is due to the Academic Success Center (ASC). Established in 2001, the ASC has been recognized nationally and internationally by organizations related to tutoring, supplemental instruction, and collegiate learning.

Clemson’s Center for Career and Professional Development is ranked No. 2 in the nation according to the 2019 Princeton Review. The career center offers many unique services, such as career workshops, on-campus interviewing, co-op and internship programs.

Clemson’s almost 25,000 students can participate in a wide variety of activities outside the classroom. The more than 400 campus clubs and organizations include fraternities and sororities, as well as honorary, international, performing arts, political, professional, religious, service, social interest, special interest, sports and fitness, and student media programs and other activities. With 19 championship level intercollegiate sports, Clemson is a national leader in athletics, including winning the 2018 National Football Playoff Championship and consistently ranked Men’s and Women’s Soccer programs. Clemson ranks 7th nationally for having the happiest students (Princeton Review, 2019).

Clemson is located in a less than 2 hour drive between two major U.S. cities Atlanta, GA and Charlotte, NC. Our scenic campus is located at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains on the 100 mile shores of Lake Harwell which adjoins to a 17,000 acre research forest. Our campus is situated in a small college town setting. Clemson was recently ranked No. 1 for having the safest campus in the nation (CollegeStats.org).

Clemson was founded in 1889 with a mission dedicated to teaching, research, and service. Today, Clemson is one of the country’s most selective public research universities, and these three concepts remain prevalent, providing the framework for an exceptional educational experience.
